Gr. 5/6 Field Trip
Posted on May 31st, 2016
From May 17-19, the grade 5/6 students participated in their field trip to Edmonton. While there, students stayed at the University of Alberta; Lister Center dorms. This gave students the chance to experience "university life" at it's fullest! The students explored the Edmonton Science Center and experienced an IMAX movie as well as a hands-on workshop on Flight and Air and Aerodynamics. The Bennett Center provided students with an in depth look at Trees and Forests. During this visit, students participated in a nature hike to study the local environment. After a fun evening of swimming at the Terwillegar Center, students spent their last morning at the Legislature and Federal Building. While at the Legislature, students had the opportunity to sit in during a parliament session where MLA's from both the Wildrose and NDP parties were deep in discussion. Students also had the opportunity to meet Dave Schneider, our local Wildrose MLA. A highlight at the Federal Building was an art exhibit featuring paintings by the Group of Seven.Thank you to Amanda Ellis, Kimberly Collis, Todd Thompson, Jeff Groves, Kym Nichols, Tami Sanderson, Mary Martens, Charmaine Puzey, Amber Puzey and Dawn Kuczaj for helping supervise this trip!
